1381 – Saint Colette, born Nicole Boellet, French abbess and founder of the Colettine Poor Clares (d. 1447)

1610 – Archduchess Maria Anna of Austria, Electress of Bavaria as wife of Maximilian I (d. 1665)

1616 – Antoinette Bourignon, French-Flemish mystic (d. 1680)

1810 – Ernestine Louise Rose, atheist, feminist and abolitionist, intellectual force behind the women’s rights movement of the 19th century (d. 1892)

1848 – Lilla Cabot Perry, American artist, known for her Impressionist style, contributed to its acceptance in the United States (d. 1933)

1850 – Charlotte E. Ray, American attorney and educator, first African-American female lawyer in the United States, first woman admitted to the District of Columbia Bar (d. 1911)

1865 – Princess Marie of Orléans, French princess by birth and Danish princess as wife of Prince Valdemar (d. 1909)
