1697 – Louise Hippolyte, Princess of Monaco, the only Sovereign Princess to reign over Monaco (d. 1731)

1856 – Mabel Loomis Todd, American editor and author (d. 1932)

1893 – Mabel Normand, American silent film actress, screenwriter, producer and director (d. 1930)

1914 – Daisy Lee Gatson Bates, American civil rights activist, publisher and writer. She is known for giving guidance to the African-American students who enrolled in the all-white Little Rock Central High School in 1957. (d. 1999)
